For a base TL AWD at trade-in... I reckon $2.5-3k.

I think $4k for a VR, VR-X or Verada would be on the money. But a tad optimistic for a base model AWD.

I was offered 5k from Mitsu against a new $40k outlander, but only 3k against a Nissan Xtrail. So i guess its pot luck and depending on what your buying at the other end...

Well that's the thing with trade-ins, if they're making a good profit on the vehicle you're buying, they can afford to give you more for your trade-in.

I reckon your car would probably be advertised on a lot for $7k or $8k so a $5k trade-in looks pretty good.

With low k's like that I would just detail it and sell it yourself. A yard isn't going to want a Magna, so hold on to it and sell it yourself!

I'd shop around for a better deal on the car you want, and sell the TL privately. TL and TWs still hold their value compared to older models, an AWD especially.

Dealers have a way of maximizing their profit on the sale of a new car, trade in, finance etc, don't give them the opportunity!

I bought a base model TL wagon from a car yard in Adelaide for $6.5K a year ago, I bet the previous owner got maybe $3K as trade in. I would have preferred to buy privately, but none were available at the time.
